I'm not sure what you mean, the connection string is simply http://localhost:8081/geoserver/ /wfs However I think I figured out what the problem is. If you ever click 'flip coordinates' it hoses your WFS imports from any source, new or old, for the rest of the Powerview session. In my case, I'd done this once, and even if you click it off, or create a new WFS import, Powerview will remember this forever for all imports until you restart the program. Feel free to test and verify. On a new session of Powerview, using vanilla out of the box geoserver, here are my steps to reproduce. -Create an import for http://localhost:8080/geoserver/topp/wfs (or wherever the server is at) -Import topp:states once. This works fine. -Create a new import, with 'flip coordinates' checked on (by default it's checked off, but if you're used to WFS you know that this is sometimes needed so when debugging stuff sometimes this is one of the random things you try...) -Import topp:states again from the new import. This should show up at 0,0 -Import topp:states from the old import. This should also show up at 0,0 Any further 'imports should always import to 0,0 until you restart powerview.

Forum Post: RE: Trimble Bluetooth GPS receivers
Hi Thad, support for GPS receivers is core functionality found in MicroStation and subsequently also available in Map. The following MicroStation wiki provides information you may be looking for. https://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/w/microstation__wiki/8955/using-global-positioning-system-devices

Forum Post: Map PowerView CONNECT Edition vs MicroStation and PowerDraft CONNECT Edition
Hello, can somebody help me choosing proper Bentley software? I have worked in MicroStation and PowerDraft CONNECT Edition, and I am thinking about switching to Map PowerView CONNECT Edition. Basically, I do detail classification and 3D vectorization based on laser points. For that, I am using Terrasolid's Terrascan application. My question is, can I continue doing that with Map PowerView because I saw that some functions are the same for these programs (Tasks palette) and it can work with Terrascan but the interface is more similar to GIS programs. I'm trying to find cheaper software but to keep most of the Microstation functions. Please share your experience. Best regards.

Forum Post: RE: Map PowerView CONNECT Edition vs MicroStation and PowerDraft CONNECT Edition
The TerraScan software is tested with the Map PowerView CONNECT Editions, as you can see on their website: https://www.terrasolid.com/ssl/download_software.php The amount of MicroStation tools are limited in the PowerView software, so you should confirm which commands you use and need before adopting the new platform. We can pursue this further in a Service Request if you would like. You should also consult the TerraScan Support group to verify the same with them.

Forum Post: [BM CE U2] Context menu in Project Explorer does not work?
Hi, using Bentley Map CE Update 2 (10.02.00.18) English with Czech language pack installed (but not active), Windows 10 completely updated. In MicroStation I am able to open context menu in Project Explorer (see screen capture), but I am not able to do the same in Bentley Map. When a button is pressed, nothing happens. Other context menu like in view displaying tools specific for an element works fine. Currently I have no access to another computer to check whether it's installation/configuration problem or can be reproduced. With regards, Jan

Forum Post: [BE CE U2] Data quality (topology) check: Overlapping polygons
Hi, is there any recommendation how to check data for overlapping polygons? The data are structured in such way there are several levels with polygons only (when not, it's an issue but can be detected easily) where the overlap is not allowed, both in the same level (which is not supported by overlap analysis I guess) and also between levels. In fact it leads to check "every polygon feature with any other from the same or another level". Is it possible? It looks to me it belongs to basic data quality checks, but I was not able to find how to do it easily in BM. With regards, Jan

Hello Jan, I could refer you to the Design File Cleanup. One of the cleanup action is called Overlaps. The help file said : "The Overlap tab contains controls used to identify two elements that partially overlap one another." I think is what you looking for. For more details about it, I will refer you to the online help from MicroStation: https://docs.bentley.com/LiveContent/web/MicroStation%20Help-v14/en/DesignFileCleanupDialogBox.html I hope that helps. Hi Sebastien, did you try it? I thought about this tool also, despite of it's a bit "too simple CAD" and not topology check, but first of all it seems it does not work at all. I tried to configure overlaps check with the attached design file, where a few overlaps exist, and I have not been able to receive any output. Bentley Map CE Update 2 on Windows 10 used. Wiki Page: - Reregister features when upgrading
The Register Features command in the Geospatial Administrator (GSA) that is delivered with Bentley Map V8i often includes new features and fixes. When upgrading Bentley Map to a more current version, it's always wise to re-register spatial features. Not re-registering spatial features may cause query and post errors. To complete this step, open the Graphical Source in the GSA, right-click on the Named Connection, and select the Register Features option. Follow the steps in each of the Registration dialog boxes to complete the process. See the Geospatial Administrator Help File's Working with Spatial Databases | Defining Graphical Sources topic for more information. https://docs.bentley.com/LiveContent/content/en/Bentley%20Map%20Help-v2/GUID-52C731F2-C589-E725-EDB7-1B017DEBED0E

Forum Post: RE: [BE CE U2] Data quality (topology) check: Overlapping polygons
Hello Jan, I agreed this is a CAD tool. It is his inherit from MicroStation. I can make it work without any problem, but for a user looking for topological analysis, the results may be unsatisfactory. I also think about Bentley Map topology tools (which will be ported to in the next Map Connect Update 3). But those are lineworks analysis tools and none verifying the polygon overlapping. The closest could be the Find Slivers tool, but it won’t flags all polygon overlapping cases. Only sliver cases ones. I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Regards, Sebastien

I tried polygon-overlaps-check.dgn, attached in my previous answer, with MicroStation V8i and CEU11 and BM CE U2 and I was not able to use Data Cleanup utility to select overlapped polygons (shapes) ... but they exist evidently. What I am doing wrong? I guess the final solution will an addin (as so many times in BM because of lack of tools) to achieve exactly what the customer needs. With regards, Jan

Hi Jan, From your file, I can flag shape overlapping by setting tolerance to 4 (see screen capture). As I said above, and since this is a CAD tool, I understand the results is not effective in geospatial context. Sorry for inconvenient. Thank you again for your comment. This is very appreciated. I will share your feedback with the team. Regards, Sebastien

Hi Sebastien,
I understand the results is not effective in geospatial context.
It would be still better than nothing, but my problem is that I do not understand how this tool work :-( Originally I thought that Tolerance means how big overlap (in area master units) is treated as is / is not overlapped. In other words, 0 means "no tolerance" and "find all overlaps, even the smallest". But because 0 finds nothing and 4 finds something, it seems to be another value.
Sorry for inconvenient.
In the case of this particular customer and project, the simple CAD approach would work on part of input data, where no other context is required for analysis. But because it's not clear what Tolerance means and the results are messy in my opinion, own code is the only solution. I will discuss this issue in MicroStation forum, because I'd like to know whether it's bug in the tool, not clear formulation in documentation or I just do not understand the documentation. Wiki Page: - Edit features in reference with Make Active for Edit (V8i only)
This article applies to Bentley Map V8i only. When features reside in an attached reference, the Reference Activate and Deactive options are disabled. To edit these features, ensure you have a valid Map Definition. Then select Make Active for Edit from the right click menu of the selected feature. This tool will activate the file containing the selected feature class which enables you to make edits or create new features. When your edits are done, choose Stop Editing to revert back to your map model. In the event that the feature class is attached in multiple reference files, a dialog will open prompting you to select the correct file. This is typical when your data is organized in map tiles covering a large geographic area. Note: If you're not using the Map Manager, you can open and edit the reference containing the features using File > Open, or the Exchange tool from the References dialog.

Wiki Page: - Edit features in reference with reference Activate (CONNECT Edition only)
Beginning with OpenCities Map CONNECT Edition Update 3, you can edit features in a reference by choosing: - Make Active for Edit from the Map Manager, or - Activate from the References dialog. Make Active for Edit and reference Activate both obtains the write lock to the selected reference for in-place editing and adheres to the following: The reference cannot be activated if: The display of the reference is turned off. It is open for editing in another session. It is a perspective reference attachment. The visible edge option is set to Legacy. The reference orientation is Geographic Reprojected. However, the reference orientation Geographic AEC Transform can be activated. The master file is read only and the reference is to another model in the master file. The file format is anything other than V8 DGN, DWG, or DXF. When a reference is activated: Only operations on the activated reference are permitted. By default, all elements in references above the activated reference in the file hierarchy, as well as the active model, are displayed with an override color. You can control whether or not an override color is used, and what the color is, with the Active Reference Override Color preference ( File > Settings > User > Preferences , Reference category). If you activate another reference, the currently activated reference is automatically deactivated. The reference is locked so that it cannot be edited in another session. DGN library data, such as levels and level filters, is not available in an activated reference file. To return to editing the active model, you have to deactivate the reference. References that have been activated are not available for editing in another session. This also applies to references that have been deactivated. To make a reference available for editing in another session, you must release the lock on it. You can do this automatically by exiting from the file or manually. For more about in-place editing of references, please refer to Temporarily Activating a Reference for In-Place Editing
