OpenCities Map preserves circular 2D arcs, but strokes 3D arcs. This means that 3D arcs will be posted and queried as linestrings rather than the original element type. Ellipsoid (or non-circular arcs) and b-splines are only supported as 2D in SS4 and CONNECT. To ensure that the queried linestring approximates the original arc as close as possible, set the ECSDK_GEOMETRY_STROKING_TOLERANCE to a value like 0.001 or 0.0001. The value represents the maximum distance between the original arc element and the sroked linestring in master units. The smaller the value, the closer the approximation to the original arc.

Forum Post: RE: New GDA2020 Geocoordinate Systems in CE - how does it work?
Mark, In order to migrate from GDA94 to GDA2020 you must first change or correct the Geographic Coordinate System from the GDA94 system, to the equivalent based on GDA94/GSB -- without reprojecting. This is a Correction from a coordinate system that used to be based on WGS84 to something that is not anymore (GDA94 used to be considered coincident to WGS84. Now it is GDA2020 that is considered coincident to WGS84 but we cannot change the definition of GDA94 after its existence). Once that is done you can reproject to the GDA2020-based Geographic Coordinate System. So your process will be a two-step process; 1. Correct the Geographic Coordinate System, do not reproject the data. 2. Reproject the data

Forum Post: RE: is there a way to export or create a datum so I can add that datum to V8i microstation
Hi Is it not possible to use an V8i NTV2 coordinate system and substitute the based *.GSB file. Seem to be a workaround. for Example: ...MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries4)\MicroStation\GeoCoordinateData\NewZealand\nzgd2kgrid0005.gsb overwrite it with the GDA2020.GSB and use the "newZealand" coordinate system. Just a Try.

Forum Post: Key-in for setting property value at placement
When placing a new map feature using the Command manager the "Place " window appear, showing the Properties for that feature as set up in the XFM schema. It is then possible to set the values in the Properties before actually placing the opbject in the map. Is it possible to manipulate the values in the ComboBox Properties using key-in commands instead of using the system mouse on the drop-down menus? If so, how should the syntax for such a key-in command be? A lot of the feature types set up in the XFM schema share many of the same Properties. Most of the feature types also have so many Properties with so long property names that we are forced to use the scroll bars to set the values in the "Place " window: I have a keypad (Datem Keypad Controller) with buttons that can be configured to send a command to Bentley Map when activated. I would like to set up some of the buttons to set a spesific Property to a spesific value while placing a feature.

The CONNECT Editions of Bentley Map are being renamed as OpenCities Map. CONNECT Edition generation: The following table lists OpenCities Map CONNECT Editions which are built with the PowerPlatform. PowerPlatform is the MicroStation core application that underlies the CONNECT Edition products that are based on MicroStation. Once a feature or fix is added to the Power Platform, it's available to all the applications based on PowerPlatform. This has increased consistency between applications, is fundamental to Bentley's update strategy and is part of an ongoing plan to unify similar tools and functions across Bentley applications. Important note regarding OpenCities Map for MicroStation: Beginning with the CONNECT Edition, OpenCities Map is now a standalone product and is not available as a layered application for MicroStation. Forum Post: RE: Key-in for setting property value at placement
Rune, Typically, this is handled through placing Initial Values rules: There just aren't any key-ins for this at this time. If standard value types are not enough, then you could write and publish a custom C expression to set a property using value type= cexpression in a placing rule. Or you could write a custom placement command.

Forum Post: Powerview Connect - WFS imports features from Geoserver to 0,0
Hi, I can connect to a WFS source (served by Geoserver) and view layers in the layer tree, but when I 'import' features, they all arrive at 0,0. The source coordinates are WGS84 (EPSG 4326) and this is reproducible with the stock layers from Geoserver (eg. topp:states). Features I can query fine, even after they are imported I can click to examine values, but the coordinates are just wrong. QGIS renders the WFS features fine. ArcGIS at least renders the default topp:states layer fine. The 'show extents' function displays coordinates in the correct range...in the source coordinate system. One other thing is also that the 'show extents' function doesn't reproject into the coordinate system defined in the DGN even something as simple as UTM. I was under the impression it was supposed to do this as well? Are there any obvious blunders that people run into? Anyway, thanks in advance.
